APPOINTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR

The Solidarity International Trust (SIT) has appointed Gitta Peyn as its new International Director. The systems researcher and cyberneticist follows Solidarity Trust's call to strengthen the work in Europe and the United States and to develop systemic education and support programmes.

The organisation aims to help local communities to promote poverty reduction initiatives. It achieves this by developing the skills of marginalised people, especially women and the young through training, education, and micro-credit programs. SIT has helped thousands of disadvantaged women to overcome poverty and take back control of their lives by providing access to start-up funds for income generating enterprises. SIT also runs the Solidarity Children’s Home and works with the Technology Partnership providing help and advice to improve farming and business methods.

SIT is a charity registered in Kenya founded by Dickson David Ntwiga, who is the organisations Executive Director. He said “Following the challenges of the last few years it’s important that we strengthen the support the charity receives to enable it to spread its work further through Kenya and neighbouring countries”

Gitta Peyn is a German education expert who works with her Formwelt programme to enable a global systemic education platform for all, young and old.

Gitta Peyn commented “I am very pleased to become International Director of SIT and I’m keen to ensure that children and adults in Kenya and other developing countries have fair opportunities for education, as well as supporting the establishment of economic independence, which can contribute to a sustainable future with dignity as self-confident global citizens.”
